Did someone say Ultima clone/rip off? I've not played this game but just looking at the video below I can tell where it got 99% of it's inspiration. Ultima ][ was published via Sierra On-line so this might have been something to do with a contact somewhere... though it was published a few years after. My hunch is someone had the source and created a new world. Graphics look just like U][ but with a bit more animation on the sprites.
